Laser capture microscopy

The CRRP houses a Arcturus laser capture microscope. With this resource, it is possible to micro-dissect individual structures from complex tissues such as the ovary, tesits and brain for analysis of specific mRNAs and proteins.

Coupled with real time quantitative RT-PCR, laser capture microscopy allows for the quantification of mRNAs in fewer than 100 cells selected from a standard 10µm tissue section.
